Evening everyone.  Missed the "new take" on Bolero, thank God.  It was brilliant in Sarajevo twenty-odd years ago, but it's past its sell by date, even for T&D now.

Well Chico & Matthew are my two faves left in the show, so either one of them winning would make me happy.

not much skating with partner

rip off of Raining men routine at the end shame on you chris

and IMO not worth 10 9.5 yes but not 10

Posted By: Skifan
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:07
Sorry. but I didn't think that warranted 30 .... Matthew seemed to stumble a bit at the beginning?

Posted By: BambionIce
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:08
Very very good work by Matthew, but I wouldn't have given 10 - 9.5 certainly.  Judges seem to be nailing their colours to the mast early.

Posted By: BambionIce
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:08
I thought there was a stumble too, Skifan!

Posted By: Tups

they have pushed for Matthew to win from the beginning

shame, there should have been more of Jorgie and Matt.. too much of the other pro's

Posted By: Bren

not a bad score for Jorgie (though judges marks do not count )

Posted By: Skifan
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:15
Woohoo!  Loved that by Jorgie and Matt   Dance

Why 9.5 from Robin and Katrina?

Posted By: BambionIce
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:16
Rats! The kind of routine I hate female celebs doing.  Matthew go to show off his fantastic skating.  Jorgie can do it equally well, but gets tossed around and waved like a matador's cape.

I want her to win, but Matt had so much more time on the blades to show off withCensored

Really enjoyed that from Jorgie, she is a very good dancer and she had great leg extentions in that routine.

I know the judges' scores dont mean anything but they def 'lead' the public

Please tell me Jorgie hasn't been told to do the routine with the ribbon as her favourite from the series - then I will convinced that everything has been geared up in Matthew's favour.

Exactly what I was thinking - he stumbled his way through the solo skate especially and I'd have marked it down to a 9.0.

Jorgie probably about the same - didn't think it was a much of a group performance as Matts and the transitions from trick to trick seemed a bit clumsy.

Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:23
Yes Bambi but it is a showcase so its a show piece - to split hairs Matt hardly skated wioth his partner but on his own.

I fear the judges will try to influence the votes and thus tie Chico and Matt and freeze out Jorgie

Posted By: BambionIce
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:25
True Bren, but you know I'm old-fashioned where skating content's concerned!  And I'm afraid the judges/producers don't want Jorgie to win.

Posted By: Bren
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:25
oh agree on that Bambi but rmember when they wanted Chris F to win and Suzanne did it is down to the public

Posted By: Tups
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:25
oh god.. he dropped Jodeyne!

Posted By: BambionIce
Date Posted: 25 Mar 2012 at 19:27
Matthew's reminded me of Chris F all the way through - possibly part of the reason I've never really warmed to him.  And that's got to have scuppered poor Chico - horrible moment!

A shame he dropped her as I think it was the best routine of the three - seemed to have the right balance between highlighting the pair and them being part of the group.

P.S.  Agree the opening Bolero was very underwhelming, especially after last years brilliant group effort.   Really hope the pros get a skate later, but suspect now it'll just be them being bought back on the ice with their partner.

specially as her hubby was right behind them, his heart must have been in his mouth too.. though they probably take it in their stride

I'm sure Chico will compose himself and come back on his second routine.

There's probably not a professional female pair skater in the world who hasn't been dropped once or twice in her career.  Not that it makes it any easier!

LOL - they cut both the VTs and judges comments and still can't go more than two performances without a break.

Oh bloomin' eck - they've made Chico do the topless routine again, haven't they?

I know I said I wasn't keen on it  - but did that routine from Chico really warrant 30?   He is also being far too cocky for my liking tonight...

A little ham with the cheese, sir, I thinkWink

Not to my taste either, Tups.  Judges have gone mad (or been given their instructions).

Posted By: Brekkie

There is no way that was as good as Jorgie's.   And god, Chico is annoying tonight with his post-dance views.

Posted By: Alex

That did not deserve a perfect score, think Chico got the 'pity' vote there for nearly face planting Jodeyne

It's the big one, it's the final but there only can be one winner by the end but what a long night eh:

Creative Routine Round

Matthew & Nina - First up and my goodness, how creative was that routine? Absolute fun to watch, the skating was flawless, the choreography was outstanding, it was so perfect for that, I can't describe it anymore than that! = 10/10

Jorgie & Matt - After surviving the skate-off, what a comeback! This was excellent and well planned and preformed, Jorgie has finally won me over with such an outstanding skate, could've been focused on Jorgie a bit more though. = 9/10

Chico & Jodeyne - Rocking back to the 50's are we, Chico? Well anyways, this was very creative and I liked the vibe, but what a shame for that huge lift to almost go wrong...let's hope he composes himself for his second routine later. = 8/10

Favorite Routine Round

Matthew & Nina - Well Matthew could've picked one from any week and I would love it, I wasn't expecting him to choose this one...it was much better this time and nearly all the flaws from before were gone, I'm sure he's done enough to skate the Bolero. = 9/10

Jorgie & Matt - I remember how wonderful that routine was before...that was way much smoother, so well timed and such a perfect unison between them, without a doubt, that was Jorgie's best skate...EVER! = 10/10

Chico & Jodeyne - That one was so much fun and he does put a smile on my face, he may have impressed the ladies but I'm only impressed with his skating and has gone to huge improvements, whatever happens, he is an outstanding finalist! = 10/10

Matthew and Jorgie for the Bolero.

Especially when unlike other similar shows voted aren't carried forward once third place is eliminated.

Jorgie and Matt are the ones I want to see the Bolero - but as I've said numerous times now they've dropped the flyiing routine I think they should do a flying Bolero instead just so it's not the same as every other bloody year.

I actually forgot that Jorgie was in the skate-off last week so she may have got the rebound vote...but still what a battle we've got now! Come on Matthew!!!
