She has been blasted with hate messages by Dancing On Ice fans for replacing Holly Willoughby as host.

But Christine Bleakley says she refuses to let the comments get her down.

The former Daybreak star has been branded 'the ugliest presenter on TV' who 'deserves to die'.

She's been called anorexic, wooden, talentless and one person even commented that she 'had the warmth of a cold tap'.

The 32-year-old told The Sun today: 'The fuss is ridiculous! If two or three people are wanting to say something that is not nice out of ten million watching then that's fine.

'I was overwhelmed by the lovely comments I got and that's all I focus on.'

And she has the support of her family.

Her sister Nicola, 30, told the Daily Star: 'I don’t understand why such nasty and personal comments are written.

'But you’ve got to take it on the chin. We know the truth.

'It annoys me that anyone would think badly of her as anyone knows she is such a genuine person.'

An ITV spokesman insisted: 'We’ve had positive feedback about Christine and Phillip Schofield presenting the new series.'

Making it work: Christine with her co-host Philip Schofield on last week's show

Christine, who overcome a bout of food poisoning last week, admitted she had a few jitters before starting her new job.

'Absolutely I was nervous,' she said.

'There is that sense when you do a show that is already up and running and it's all new for you... definitely I was.

'After show No1 I thought, 'I now have my bearings and I know where I want to be.'

She said replacing Holly, 30, was a 'dream come true'.

She was dropped days later from Daybreak, along with co-host Adrian Chiles.

The star, who is engaged to footballer Frank lampard, said she loved working with Phillip Schofield, although is scared she may laugh out loud on air because of his filthy sense of humour in the ad breaks.

'He's wicked, he just slips in little comments when you don't expect it, I'm having a ball.'

you just have to read twitter to see how fanatical these so called fans are - what their peanuts brains cannot take in is that Holly quit DOI and was not sacked in favour of Christine

I'm not on twitter, or facebook, or any other social networking thingie, and the Blue Room is the only forum I've ever joined because there are no halfwits, fanatics or fools who think internet anonymity gives them the right to screech pathetic abuse here.  Christine ain't my cup of tea, but that kind of brainless abuse just makes me sick.
People who can post that type of junk would be barred from owning computers until they could learn to behave if the Bambi Party ever came to powerAngry

Don't belong to Twitter or Facebook, but certainly know there are nutters out there. What do they get out of this? The woman is just doing her job

I think she's doing ok, blimey, it's only been 2 weeks.  Yeh Holly and Phil are the dream team IMO, but she wasn't sacked, she chose to leave.

The role needed replacing.

I think it's disgusting people actually have the gall to say such horrible things to famous people.

I'd never be so bloody rude to anyone.

She's not my cup of tea, anyway she'll be gone next year, when she departs for L.A. this summer with her boyfriend Frank Lampard, looks like he'll be off to LA Galaxy to join Beckham.
She does seem to be a bit wooden, and her and Phil don't seem to gel or complement each other, but someone with a 'large ' personality  and funnier would of put him in the shade, better to get a blander host.

funny what I heard on the radio this morning, 'Doesn't Bruce Forsyth look  young and well hosting DOI, but why do they keep calling him Phil??'  made me laugh anywayLOLLOLLOLLOL

Crikey, some people need to get a life

I couldn't stand Holly so was quite happy that she left but even if I thought that she was wonderful wouldn't dream of going to those extremes

CB is okay, I'm not a fan particularly but she's filling a role and at least isn't like Tess on SCD

It's shocking that these people are let loose in society!

Before you criticise someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticise them you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

don't think it would of made much difference, as she has a very small part , playing the assistant/hostess of the show, not as if she's a judge or anything, more like a 'dolly dealer', but she has a few words to say from autocue now and then.

Frank's (and Ellen's) girls would of been in the audience no doubt tho.

She was a lot better this week than last, but I will put that down to the fact she wasnt well last week.

If you think back to seires one Holly was pretty crap as well. It takes time to warm up.

She isn't a patch on Holly - and I do wonder how much of a factor ITV needing to find Christine a job was in Holly "quitting".

Also not liking how they've increased the role for her - the mid-show chats with the contestants are painful and couldn't care less what people are saying on Twitter (and if I did, I'd be following Twitter during the show).  That's not her fault though - but would rather see all that crap go and proper introductions reintroduced - didn't like them cutting straight into the routine last night at all, plus for the weaker skaters them actually making it out of the tunnel and to the middle is part of the fun.
