X Factor’s Marcus Collins and Craig Colton talk to the Liverpool ECHO as they prepare for movie week

LIVERPOOL’S leading lads Marcus Collins and Craig Colton today told of their preparations to take centre stage for “movie week”.

The X Factor stars said the reality of becoming pop stars was finally sinking in as they recorded their potential winner’s single.

They also revealed their true feelings about X Factor returnee Amelia Lily.

Craig, 23, said: “This week is going to be big. It is movie week and I’m pushing myself.

“I think I have the biggest movie theme tune. I have definitely been put in the deep end with this song.

“It is a massive song and I am pushing my vocals more than ever.

“Every weekend I say to Gary [Barlow] ‘this is it’. It could be one of us going home. It could be me going.

“We were all so shocked when The Risk went out, so any one of us could go out.

“I have gone up and down in the bookies’ odds, but the comments from the judges have always been fantastic.

“This week was a big week for us because we recorded the winner’s single and were confirmed for The X Factor tour. It is all starting to feel real. It is a nice feeling.”

Marcus, who was joint favourite with Amelia to win, said he is not taking anything for granted.

He also revealed he has taken note of the X Factor judges’ feedback and will bring something different to the stage when he takes on his film song this weekend.

He said: “I cannot explain how amazing it is to even be in this position and to be recording in the studio.

“We have worked on what could be our winner’s song and that was so exciting.

“I know who I am as an artist now and I have a lot of input into what I do on stage.

“We have all had to take on various themes for the TV show, but I have found my niche now and that is interaction with dancers.

“Tulisa said I was predictable last week but maybe Gary was right and it was ‘tactical critique’ to throw us off.

“But if Tulisa wants me to change it up a little to make the show more interesting or more entertaining for her, then I will.”

Former hairdresser Marcus said he believes it was fair to give Amelia an equal shot at winning The X Factor, despite being brought back into the competition at the latter stages.

But admitted he was upset when Frankie Cocozza left the contest for breaking rules.

He said: “We miss Frankie. We had such a laugh together. He came with us to LA and he was in Team Barlow.

“I used to stand next to Frankie backstage so it is a little daunting him not being there.

“But Amelia is incredibly talented. She could win. She did not have a chance to face the public vote in week one so I do not think it is unfair she came back.”

Meanwhile Liverpool-born songbird Rebecca Ferguson will return to The X Factor on Sunday to perform Nothing’s Real But Love.

The Anfield singer, who finished second to Matt Cardle, will share the stage with pop star Rihanna.

Rebecca will be the fourth act from the 2010 series to return to the show, following Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd and One Direction.

It will also be a return to the X Factor for Rihanna, who sang a duet with Matt Cardle last year and gave a saucy performance which prompted complaints to Ofcom.

I think one of them will be out before the final

-------------
Catwoman: "For one if I was a bloke, I would not flirt with you two. I have standards."
Toots: "If I had a figure like Ola's, I'd wear that outfit to Sainsburys!"
