  • - - - He was the presenter of kids' gameshow Fun House in the nineties and she had several pop hits in the eighties.

So some of I'm A Celebrity's younger viewers may be a little confused as to who Pat Sharp and Sinitta are.

The duo are gearing up to enter the jungle and surprise the rest of the happy campers later on today, but their arrival has a twist that will have an adverse effect on the rest of the celebrity inhabitants.

Rememebr us? Sinitta and Pat Sharp are gearing up to head into the jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The duo will each take part in a task that will decide which of the two camps they will end up in.

Sinitta, who once dated X Factor mogul Simon Cowell, will be of most interest and relevance to much of the I'm A Celeb audience.

Her connection to Cowell may well offer some insight into his life if she chooses to discuss their time together.

The singer, 42, had chart hits in the eighties with songs such as So Macho and Toy Boy.

More recently she has been involved with the X Factor as a mentor.

Sinitta dated Cowell for 20 years and apparently they first got together when she was 14.

However, she recently admitted that he cheated on her on a regular basis.

In September she told the People newspaper: 'I caught him out a few times but Simon’s a master of denial.'

Sin city: Sinitta says Simon Cowell cheated on her with several women

'You know that song by Shaggy called It Wasn’t Me, where he is caught out every time by his partner but still denies it was him? Well it was just like that.

'He likes all women, all sizes, all colours, all nationalities.'

But the former couple have remained close friends, and their friendship led to Sinitta's mentoring role on the X Factor.

However, Sinitta's appearance in the jungle could be short-lived - she admitted that she has a fear of insects.

Sinitta said: 'I’m kind of one those girls who are afraid of everything. I don’t do creepy crawlies. Nightmare.'

Meanwhile Sharp is currently in the hotseat hosting the Weekend Breakfast show at Smooth FM, where he took over from DJ Tony Blackburn who is a previous winner of I'm A Celebrity - perhaps a good omen for the 50-year-old.

Host with the most: Pat Sharp presented kids' gameshow Fun House and was famed for his long mullet

Pat will be best known to viewers in their late 20s/early 30s as the presenter of kids' gameshow Fun House, which broadcast on ITV from 1989 to 1999.

He was famed for his long mullet hairdo and garish shirts.

Fun House was a hugely popular gameshow thanks to its highly entertaining challenges, which included the famed Grand Prix race, and of course Pat Sharp's co-presenters the twins Melanie and Martina.

It's a real wacky show where anything will go: Fun House was a hugely popular programme on Children's ITV

ITV said the duo's entry into the jungle has a twist that will affect the rest of the celebrity contestants, though they have yet to reveal exactly what that is.

A spokesman said: 'They have decisions to make as they take their journey into camp and each decision will have a direct impact on the other campmates - unbeknown to them or the new arrivals.'

Sharp said: 'What an opportunity to visit somewhere so far from home and get my teeth into everything the jungle has to offer. Well, maybe not everything.'
