I'M A Celebrity stars will be engulfed by 10,000 cockroaches for the launch of this year's show.

SEXY Jessica Jane Clement (pictured top) shows a touch of Klass — emulating Myleene's 2006 I'm A Celeb shower scene.

Jess's bikini shot was taken in Thailand last year.

It's going swimmingly for the model, 26, as she bids to be Jungle Queen.

And coming face to face with the creepy crawlies won't win them a thing — because it isn't going to count as a trial.

Bosses have planned the bug-fest for today — when the celebs meet each other at a villa on the coast of Queensland, Australia.

It will be the biggest number of cockroaches ever used in one scene — and the results will be aired on Sunday when the series starts at 9pm on ITV1.

Executive producer Chris Brogden said: "We always like to do something big and new for our launch show.

"This year we are surprising our celebrities with a challenge that isn't a trial. It will see all of them come into contact with 10,000 cockroaches.

"That will be a big shock for them on day one."

There could also be a few unplanned horrors in store for the celebs, who'll be spending up to three weeks on the show.

The jungle site has been over-run with repulsive reptiles — and I'm A Celeb medic Bob McCarron revealed that 40 deadly Rough-scaled SNAKES had been removed since August.

He said: "It is a bit of a worry."

The Aussie camp has also been flooded with microscopic TICKS, which can do serious damage if they are not removed immediately.

Show boss Chris hit back at criticism that too many of the celebrities were pensioners.

Oldies include comic Freddie Starr, 68, and Emmerdale star Lorraine Chase, 60, as well as US actress Stefanie Powers, 69, and ex-jockey Willie Carson, who's 69 on Wednesday.

But Chris said: "We're not consciously trying to bring in older celebs.

"We cast for the best mix of personalities.

"As it turns out, some of them are a little older this year, but it wasn't a conscious decision."

He added: "There could be an older jungle romance this year. I don't think we should discriminate."

We can also reveal that the contestants WON'T be split into two groups when they enter the camp, but some will arrive by helicopter.

And Sinitta will join them AFTER the series starts.

Chris explained: "We usually put some people in a few days later."

  • THE celebs will face extra security to keep out luxury items — after Gillian McKeith last year hid spices, soup and salt in her knickers.

Executive producer Chris Brogden said: "The contraband search always happens but we need to make sure it's done even more thoroughly."

An insider added: "But we have stopped one step short of full body searches - The Sun
