X Factor week 4 sneak peak

The X Factor continues this week as the judges continue their search for the next musical superstar as the auditions hit Manchester and London.

Judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh have been impressed with some of the talent in the auditions so far, but how will this week’s hopefuls fare?

Hoping to impress the judges this week is Kendro, a duo made up of 18-year-old Alejanero and 23-year-old Keneal. The pair met through a mutual friend and want to be as big as Lady Gaga.

After performing Born This Way in front of the judges, the pair get some negative feedback from Gary, who tells them:

“For me you’re everything this competition doesn’t need. I’m always interested in why someone comes on and they’re putting lipstick on and they’ve dyed their hair, and it’s because you’ve got no talent at all.”

What will the other judges make of them? Watch The X Factor on Saturday night at 8.15pm to find out.

The next hopefuls keen to impress the judges with their vocal abilities are 17-year-old beauty student Andy who sings Beyonce’s To the Left and Carl, 21, who performs Beautiful People.

50-year-old Christine also tries to make her mark with her rendition of It’s Raining Men, followed by 31-year-old barmaid Samantha.

The Welsh beauty likes to talk a lot and backstage she says: “I’ve decided to audition for The X Factor because I just want to sing. When I go out on that stage today I’m going to be nervous and when I’m nervous I talk too much and I think I’ll probably talk more than I sing.”

Out on stage Kelly is horrified by Samantha’s freakishly bendy arm, but will her rendition of Whitney Houston’s One Moment in Time be enough to impress the judges?

Also hoping for success in front of the judges is girl group Twisted, and a familiar face is singing lead vocals. Chrissie Pitt, 26, got to the later stages of Boot Camp last year as a solo artist and was gutted when she got sent home. She admitted backstage:

“After Boot Camp I decided that I definitely wanted to be in a group so we all kind of got together in my house and started singing and doing a bit of dancing, and Twisted was born.”

The band’s rendition of Kings of Leon’s Someone Like You gets mixed results from the judges, with Gary telling them:

“It doesn’t feel like a band at all, it feels like a solo singer with three very mediocre backing singers.”

Things don’t look promising for Twisted, but what do the other judges think? And will the group get a second chance?

The last singer to face the judges is 20-year-old Lascel from Brighton, who started singing when he was put into foster care at the age of four. He explains:

“Having music was always something that I had just to escape and through that I felt free. I hope today will be the start of something good for me, it’s such an amazing opportunity for me to move forward.”

Lancel launches into his rendition of Use Somebody by Kings of Leon, and the judges are blown away by his talent, with Tulisa telling him:

“That was an absolutely outstanding performance; amazing and unbelievable.”

Kelly is really proud of him and tells him his audition was beautiful to watch, while Gary and Louis heap praise on the talented youngster. Lascel is definitely one to watch! - STV.TV
