Happy Easter... to everyone... of all faiths and none.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

And from me too. After years of going to our caravan for Easter, or cooking huge meals for the family, we are having a quiet day, just walk the dog and a  chicken for lunch. Our maxim until Tuesday is: Nothing to do and all day to do it in
Inside every elderly person there is a young person wondering what the hell happened

Quiet day here Toots. Everyone is busy.

Are you watching/listening to the tennis later?
Great chance for Andy to win another title.

Have a happy Easter too. We went to church this morning with my niece complaining that 8am was too early for her. Just finished cleaning up after a big dinner I cooked for 9 people. I usually cook a big fish dinner on Good Friday for family and guests, but did that tonight since I was away most of Good Friday. I usually cook tempura style fish and prawns using a gluten free batter I make which is much lighter and crispier than a traditional beer batter. I have never owned a deep fryer. I have always used a flat bottomed wok that I asked my mother if I could have from her house over 30 years ago.
My niece is happy - she got lots of chocolate. I made my sister egg shaped meringues partially dipped in gluten and dairy free chocolate as her Easter eggs ( well it did have real egg in it).

Having a lazy Sunday, my daughter just got up (2pm) after a hectic week in Italy (we didn't get to bed till 3.30am last night).
In Rome for Good Friday, can't believe they served them all steak?? what is the catholic world coming to??
(we had fish here, even tho hubby lapsed catholic, and no religion followed!)

She's had her fill of churches i think, never been in so many, and museums, and she's normally in (Anglican)church every day anyway for assembly.

She's not even mentioned chocolate yet either!!!- might be ill then!, lol.

My 12 year old son ate his eggs earlier in the week from his auntie, and grandma, nobody told him what day they are normally eaten on!! (he didn't ask me either, and i forgot to tell him, bad mother!!!- they obviously didn't mention it in his daily church visits either!!!

oops didn't realise that the Eggs/Easter tradition is  adapted from a Pagan festival(fertility etc.. hence rabbit/hare), so eggs wouldn't of been mentioned in their daily service!!!!!

It's part of Christian tradition too Deb.
People fast or give things up for lent... and break the fast Easter sunday.

Once the sunday school teacher asked my brother what he was going to give up.
He said school. We all fell about laughing... and I still tease him about it now.
