  • Popular dancer Maksim Chmerkovsky will not be back this season

From Olympians to reality stars, the new season of Dancing With The Stars looks set to be a good one.

Country music royalty in the form of Wynonna Judd and American Idol alumni Kellie Pickler, Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump and controversial comedian Andy Dick are among the celebrities who will be taking part in the 16th season of the show.

But show bosses have a surprise up their sleeves, and will only reveal the final contestant at a later date.

Ready to dance: Wynonna Judd and LIsa Vanderpump are among the stars revealed as the new cast of ABC's Dancing With The Stars

Dusting off those dancing shoes! The new cast of season 16 of Dancing With The Stars was revealed in a big unveil on Tuesday's Good Morning America

The names for the upcoming season were revealed on Good Morning America on Tuesday, and Wynonna revealed she has already been getting some tips from a former competitor, Kirstie Alley, in preparation for the season premiere on March 18.

She said: 'When I talked to Kirstie, she said, "You know what? It'll be the most fun you'll ever have, and it'll be the hardest you'll ever work".

'She said it absolutely put a fire under her butt and a pep in her step.'

She's ready to dance! Wynonna was obviously delighted to be teamed up with Tony Dovolani live on air

Isn't he a bit tall? Reality star Lisa will be dancing with Gleb Savchenko

And Wynonna is also hoping the tough show will help her lose a bit of weight - in the same way it helped Kirstie shed the pounds.

'I'm trying to get back to my original weight of 8lbs and 15oz,' she joked.

'This is going to be like going into boot camp for me, because I don't get to rest a whole lot in terms of movement.'

Let's hope he behaves! Controversial comedian Andy Dick was teamed with Sharna Burgess

Mutual appreciation: Boxer Victor Ortiz greets his professional partner Lindsay Arnold

And she added that it was the sixth year producers had asked her to take part, but the first time she had seriously considered it.

'Because it's the year of doing things that you're scared of,' she said.

'Is anybody else scared to death? Raise your hand! This is something I said I'd never do.'

Reality star Lisa was joined the on the show for the big unveiling by her pet dog Giggy, a breakout star of Real Housewives.

'He's over there, he's always with me,' she said, gesturing to the audience.

Other celebrities on the show will include Olympic gold medallist Aly Raisman, 18, who found fame when she won three medals as part of the U.S. gymnast team at the London Olympics last year.

Fellow Olympian, figure skater Dorothy Hamill, has also signed up.

She told GMA that despite her previous experience on the ice rink, a lot had changed since her success in 1976.

'I don't think it's going to help, but I can try,' she said.

Joining them from the world of sport are Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones, who showed off his rather ungainly dancing moves on GMA.

Boxer Victor Ortiz and soap star Inigo Rademacher are also signed up.

Moving on: Popular dancer Maksim Chmerkovsky will not be back this season

Completing the female line-up is Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman, while for the men are Actor Ingo Rademacher and Actor/Comedian D.L Hughley.

Sadly for his fans one big name will not be returning.

Instead Maksim Chmerkovsky will guest star on his former partner Kirstie Alley's new show, Giant Baby.

The popular dancer released a statement on Tuesday morning to explain his surprising decision to leave the show after seven years.

'I just want to set the record straight to all of my amazing fans that I will unfortunately not be returning for this season of Dancing With the Stars,' the 33-year-old told Life & Style in a statement.

'I’ve been a pro dancer on the show for about seven years now and am eager to explore other opportunities that have been made possible because of Dancing With the Stars. I'm going to take this time to dive into producing and acting, while fulfilling my sponsorship obligations.'

Buit should he want to return to the show at a later date it looks like he will have that option.

A spokesman for ABC told the magazine: 'We frequently rotate the professional dancers, so it

is not unusual for them to rest a cycle'.
