Helen Flanagan is already in tears as I'm A Celebrity kicks off... and she hasn't even got to the jungle yet

As Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, Helen Flanagan was used to being in the middle of dramatic scenarios.

But it seems like life has imitated art for the actress after she broke down in tears after being forced to undertake a high-wire task upon arrival in the Australian jungle.

She is one of the contestants in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and already seems to be finding life in the undergrowth hard - before even reaching camp.

Highly strung: Judging by her tear stained cheeks, Helen Flanagan is yet to embrace her inner Earth mother in the jungle

In scenes due to be broadcast tomorrow, viewers will see the 22 year-old break down in tears after she is made to climb above the jungle canopy in to camp.

Usually, the celebrities are made to do a skydive in to their new leafy hangout, but adverse weather conditions meant that this year show bosses were forced to come up with alternative routes in to the dense forest.

Helen and her teammates, who make up Camp Croc, were given the high road, while their competitors were made to take a more watery route in a rowing challenge.

But Helen had enough waterworks of her own to worry about as she began sobbing when the enormity of her task hit home.

Sheer terror: Helen was petrified as she attempted to navigate the thin wire in to camp

Don't look down: The Coronation Street actress was frozen with fear as she faced the task head on

The pretty Manchester lass froze with fear and began to sob as she was faced with the sheer drop of the forest below.

Helen has openly admitted that she has a phobia of heights, which is probably something many viewers will be able to relate to.

But not even the breezy attitudes of her peers nor the anticipation of what lies ahead could coax her along the high wire, and the safety harness she was wearing also offered little comfort.

Brian Conley took to the sky with ease, striding confidently from one side to the other.

Streams of tears: Not even safety equipment could make Helen feel safe as she navigated the Australian sky

Afraid and alone: Helen is scared of heights, and found the high wire task very frightening

Meanwhile, Linda Robson found herself danging in the air after slipping off the precarious length.

Fellow Croc Creek members boxer David Haye and Eastenders actress Charlie Brooks also had to take to the sky to enter their camp.

Meanwhile, the Snake Rock team, made up of shamed Tory MP Nadine Dorries, Dr. Who star Colin Baker, darts legend Eric Bristow, Made In Chelsea's Hugo Taylor and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, were finding it equally stressful to get to their new base.

The team had just 45 minutes to row a canoe across a lake - however, they failed and all ended up submerged in the icy cold water.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here starts tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
