Sincere apologies!

I'm afraid I won't be doing the usual 'blog' this week - sorry - but my 'itch' turned out to be German Measles - bliddy unbelievable at my age!

My GP told me that childhood diseases can be more serious in adults - he was right - I haven't been able to get out of bed for anything but short periods all last week, but I had to rally myself yesterday go on a very long trip with the hubba and my poor little Solomon to be seen by a specialist veterinary orthopaedic consultant as his injury turned out to be much more serious than my vet realised.

Sorry - I'm starting to ramble - I'll tell you all more when I can keep my thoughts straight, but the bottom line is, Solomon's okay but I'm not - yesterday wiped me out and I seem to have had some kind of relapse.

Have to go - I'm not supposed to be out of bed and the hubba's only popped out to get my prescription and some Lucozade - see you all soon - in the meantime, enjoy tonight's show without me!

Thank you - you're all so kind and I really appreciate your good wishes for me and Solomon!

He's hopping around and seems quite bright in himself, and he does keep 'testing' his paw and partially bearing weight on it, so fingers crossed he's going to regain full function!

As for me - I am improving but it isn't exactly rapid - mind you, I made matters a million times worse by being daft enough to buy some Nyquil from Boots because Friday was such a worrying, tiring day, I was worried I wouldn't sleep.

I didn't - even though I took some of the stuff, I had terrible nightmares all Friday night, and I still wasn't right yesterday. I did try to watch 'Strictly' but I kept drifting off to sleep then waking with a start and getting mixed up as to who was dancing with whom.

I sort of watched it to the point when the old Diet Liar and Comrade Teethski, stripped to the left garter, were on. After prancing around a bit with a face like a smacked bum, she suddenly fell to the ground in a death dive and I was convinced that a sniper in the gallery had shot her - at which point the hubba put the telly off and said gently, "I think it's time we had another little sleep, don't you?"   

Hopefully, normal service will be resumed next week!
