'I didn't think I'd last this long!' Jaleel White bows out of Dancing with the Stars... as Melissa Gilbert manages to cling on
By Amelia Proud PUBLISHED: 05:00, 2 May 2012 | UPDATED: 09:37, 2 May 2012 With her consistently low scores,
Melissa Gilbert was the obvious candidate to be sent home on tonight's
Dancing With the Stars results show. But
the Little House on the Prairie star lived to twirl another night, as
Family Matters Jaleel White was given his marching orders. First
up, there was another chance to see Maria Menounos and Derek Hough
dance their 10-10-10-fang-tastic, vampire-themed paso doble, that earned
the first perfect score the season during last night's classical themed
extravaganza.
Bowing out: Family Matters star Jaleel White was voted off Dancing with the Stars tonight Then there was the harrowing
story of Steelo Vasquez, a professional dancer in music, film and
television, who suffered a brain aneurysm last year that left him unable
to speak and walk. This meant six months in the hospital and continuing physical therapy five days a week. Steelo took the stage with popular dance group the Groovaloos for the first time since his aneurysm and was able to pull off a soul-affirming hip-hop routine.
Time to go: Jaleel scored three eights last night so wasn't at the bottom of the board, but he was still voted off
'I've made friends': Jaleel admitted that he was surprised he made it so far, and that he loved taking part in the competition
Relief: William Levy said classical wasn't his thing, but he impressed enough to stay in the competition
Top of their game: Derek and Maria chatted about this week's triumph in their video diary Eliminated contestant Gavin DeGraw returned to the ballroom to perform as his former partner, Karina Smirnoff, danced with pro Louis Van Amstel. And
Tom Bergeron announced after a commercial break: 'I don't know what
just happened, but I think that Mark Ballas is going to someone's prom,'
as the camera panned to a young woman who was smiling profusely. Back
in the competition, William Levy, Maria Menounos, Katherine Jenkins,
Donald Driver and incredibly, Melissa Gilbert were all pronounced safe.
She's safe! Melissa Gilbert was relieved to
avoid the dance off after her effort yesterday to Mozart's The Marriage
of Figaro was panned
Dramatic: Maria Menounos and Derek Hough wowed the audience again
Highlight of the season so far: Maria and Derek were pitch perfect in this ghoulish routine
Not damning: Carrie Ann Inaba hated Melissa's routine yesterday, but it wasn't enough to get her gone It came down to a dance off
between Disney star Roshon Fegan, who had to dance in the duel last week
against Gladys Knight, and White. The two stars danced a rumba with their partners at the same time. The
judges said both did well, with Len adding: 'It breaks my heart that
one of you has to go, but it's the name of the game." In the end, all
three voted to save Roshon.
Technically brilliant: Katherine saw her thunder stolen by Maria this week but was still highly praised
Dance off: Both couples did well according to the judges, but of course one had to go
Red is the winning colour: Roshon was saved, and Jaleel said he was glad of this
Moment of truth: The competitors and their partners waited to be put out of their misery
And she's still in: Melissa, with partner Maks, is clinging on by the skin of her teeth 'I'm going to tell you a
secret,' said Jaleel at the end. 'I really only thought I'd last about
three dances in this competition. ... I've made incredible friends.' He added: 'The fans have been incredible. I love Roshon Fegan. I'm happy they saved him; he has a bright future. Len, give give him a 10. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2138219/Dancing-With-Stars-Jaleel-White-bows-Melissa-Gilbert-manages-cling-on.html#ixzz1ti5s0oqf |

I was watching 'Entertainment Tonight' & Katherine Jenkins has been nicknamed by one of their reporters as the 'Welsh Wiggler'.
