X Factor's Kelly Rowland says Misha B's 'vulnerability' saved her from axe
X Factor judge Kelly Rowland admitted Misha B's on-screen 'vulnerability' saved her from the bottom two this week, as Amelia Lily and Craig Colton found themselves singing for survival.

Gary Barlow found himself with only Marcus Collins left in the competition after Craig's surprise exit, with Misha originally favourite to leave the show on Sunday before an emotional performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing impressed the judges and public alike.

While Misha looked surprised and pleased to have escaped what would have been her third sing-off, many fans accused young hopeful of using her personal issues to try and win votes after the 19-year-old broke down in her VT and after her performance on Saturday.

Mentor Kelly Rowland – who also cried while discussing her own family issues with her act – admitted Misha's tears may have helped win votes as viewers were able to connect with her vulnerability.

Speaking on the Xtra Factor, she said: 'I think that Misha being more open just about herself and even as far as performing… When she performed she was so vulnerable, she allowed herself to be vulnerable and people really connected with her vulnerability on stage and her performance… It was just really magnetic.

'I was really proud of her because in rehearsals I didn't even see her go to that place. She went to a place where she just connected with everybody and that's what kept her out of the bottom two.'

But one fan pointed out that it could be seen as hypocritical of Kelly to use Misha's personal life in her VT when Rowland had previously told Tulisa acts should be judged on their performance and nothing else, saying whatever happens off stage 'should stay back stage'.

Despite being given an opportunity to make a dig, Tulisa refused to reignite the row and said: ' That's all forgotten now it really is, I don't even want to go into it any more. Me and Kelly are cool.

'I don't want to put any more digs in, I've had enough of all the drama. I'm just focusing on my acts like Kelly is, we're good. That's it.'

Meanwhile Misha said she was 'so grateful' to have been saved by the public and denied the tears were deliberate, saying: 'For me this show and this whole process is like a rollercoaster so the vulnerability will come at different times.

'I didn't go up there and expect to cry but I did, because it came… I'm just glad to be here.'

With Misha, Amelia Lily and Janet Devlin all left in the competition, Kelly Rowland is now guaranteed to have at least one act in the final.
