THE APPRENTICE: BLAGGING WANNABE A BIG ‘ED

“
He was not a wheeler dealer as he describes himself, just a very intelligent chump
”

Childhood pal Michael Wilson

FRIENDS of Apprentice wannabe Edward Hunter say he’ll flunk because he is a Stuart Baggs-like “chump”.

The accountant has already drawn comparisons with Stuart Baggs “The Brand” thanks to his boastful audition released last week ahead of the new series of The Apprentice.

In it he describes himself as a “wheeler dealer who accidentally became a finance professional”.

And he claims that his “confidence, intelligence and personality” will lead to success.

But pals reckon he is a bit of a blagger – just like Stuart.

The Isle of Man entrepreneur was fired at the interview stage last year after being branded “full of shit” by show boss Lord Sugar, 64. And friends think 25-year-old Edward will go the same way.

Childhood pal Michael Wilson said: “I went to school with Edward. He was not a wheeler dealer as he describes himself, just a very intelligent chump.”

Another mate said: “There are quite a few similarities with Stuart and I can’t see him going that far. Having said that, Ed is quite funny, whereas Stuart was accidentally funny.”

Edward, who was born in Reading, Berkshire, but is half Afghan, reckons there isn’t “anything” Lord Sugar will find difficult about him.

But show insiders say the billionaire businessman is keen not to let “another Stuart pull the wool over his eyes”.
