FACEBOOK FACE-OFF IN RACE TO BE IN THE NEW BIG BROTHER
TV presenter Emma Willis is in the frame to host the show Tuesday May 3,2011 By Nathan RaoTHE rush to be part of the hotly-awaited new series of hit reality show Big Brother starts today.
Would-be housemates are invited to apply online to win a place in Britain’s most celebrated house, with the series appearing on Channel 5 for the first time. TV presenter Emma Willis plus singers Myleene Klass and Cheryl Cole are in the frame to host the show from Elstree Film Studios, in Hertfordshire, this summer. And in a new twist, applicants can use their Facebook profiles to convince Big Brother that they have what it takes. The new series will be preceded by a celebrity version with possible housemates to include actress Joanna Lumley, businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, football pundit Andy Gray and boxer Ricky Hatton. Channel 5 says it wants to “bring back the fun” to Big Brother and will be looking for party people, not oddballs. Jeff Ford, Channel 5’s director of programmes, said: “We will bring a completely fresh perspective to the Big Brother phenomenon.”
