Show facts and figures Part 1

1.During the 5 series of the ’Dancing on Ice’
various personalities have appeared on
the ice: 1 Olympic sprinter, 1 javelin
champion, 3 footballers, 2 rugby players, 1
tennis star, 6 popstars, 2 West End stars,
12 actors, 2 news presenters, 9 TV
presenters, 2 weather girls, 1 Radio DJ, 1
dancer, 2 models and 1 investigative

· As well as increasing their fitness, many
of the celebrities have lost substantial
weight from training to ice skate. The
record amount of weight shed by any
Dancing on Ice celebrity is held by Donal
McIntyre who lost over 3 stone in series 4.

2. The most famous and dangerous move
performed on Dancing on Ice is the head
banger – the female is held by the ankles
and lies flat out in the air. The male then
spins them around whilst swinging them
high up in the air and low down near the
ice – hence it is called a headbanger as the
head is dangerously close to the ice
Bonnie Langford did this in the first series,
and Lisa Scott Lee in series 2, Suzanne
Shaw in series 3 and Roxanne Pallet
attempted it unsuccessfully in series 4.
Hayley Tamaddon did it in show 6 of series
5, the earliest successful headbanger in
the show’s history

To date no male celebrity has attempted
the headbanger with his professional
partner since David Seaman bounced Pam
O’Connor’s head off the ice in practice
during series 1. They successfully
completed the move in the live show, but
no male celeb has attempted it since

3. Only 3 celebs have ever achieved the
perfect score of 30 from the judges.
Suzanne Shaw was the first celebrity in
Dancing On Ice history to score full marks,
scoring 30 twice in the final of series 3
Ray Quinn scored 30 in show 6 of series 4,
the earliest ever perfect score. He then
went on to score 30 twice more in the
series final

Hayley Tamaddon scored 30 for her
routine in week 9 of series 5, and again for
one of her routines in the final
Ray is the only celeb to achieve perfect
marks on 3 occasions
