Apprentice aficionado Grace Dent rates the remaining contestants…

Chris is more "Sandhurst" than "City" for me, and I can't forgive him
for trying to convince Stella to strip for a beachwear shoot with the
cry "Come on Stella, take one for the team!" I notice he wasn't
forthcoming about modelling the fat-shaping vest in any pitches…

Contenders like Alex and Chris are no match for the likes of Liz Locke
and Jamie Lester, as they lack the strong likeability factor. Alex is
trustworthy, but this is mainly because he's a 26-year-old who's trapped
inside the body of a 46-year-old UPVC window company middle manager.
Liz Locke The main woman to watch. She spent three
weeks standing at the back, hpicture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinead cocked to the side looking like Bambi
set loose in M&S's businesswear department. Then, bang, she suddenly
breaks the Apprentice boardroom sales record. When Liz has a project
she truly "gets", like selling the babygrows that reacted to a baby's
temperature, she will quash all opponents.

My tip for a winner is ex-Marine Christopher. Logistically, he's
brilliant. Nobody, including Karren and Nick, have had a single bad word
to say about him. He's even failed to annoy Lord Sugar.
picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinJamie Lester
Having said that, Jamie looks like a real contender for the top job.
He's not an ideas man as such, but a rock-solid and rather enigmatic
leader. He finds manners important, too. Jamie's told Stuart off twice
about cheekiness (after the sausage task and the babygrow pitch) which I
found impressive.
picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinStella English Stella is good with figures, but is as interesting to have around the office as the water cooler…
picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinJoanna Riley I like Joanna.
She's immensely tough, never letting foghorns like Melissa walk over
her. Joanna volunteered to be project manager on task one while all the
other supposed "born leaders" slunk away.
I warmed to Joanna as she speaks very plainly, never relying on flimsy
business jargon, and she's a brilliant telephone cold-caller - a job
that gives me hives even thinking about it. Joanna's background is
cleaning, but other candidates, Melissa especially, underestimated her
at their peril.

picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinStuart Baggs I've got a
severe soft spot for Stuart Baggs: the brand. This series would've been
so much more sombre without his unfettered energy and ability to offend
everyone he meets. Stuart is totally unsuitable for Lord Sugar's job,
but I'd employ him if I could. Sure, he'd last eight weeks but what a
white-knuckle ride it would be!
picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinSandeesh Samra
As for Sandeesh, well, she's very pleasant and has a lovely way with
customers, but I can't recall a single thing she's ever contributed. I
know when she's cornered in the boardroom, she narrows her eyes like a
cobra and fights opponents off with ease. Sandeesh, we need to see this
sort of guile during the tasks!
picture%20%20of%20a%20pumpkinLaura Moore
During the "Battle of Old Compton Street", where Laura, Paloma and
Sandeesh bickered about "exclusivity rights", all the girls may have
been shouting, but while Paloma managed to seem noble, Laura just looked
Laura needs to leave ASAP. She's a terrible sulker and whiner, always
huffing that life isn't fair and that no one listens to her. She reminds
me of me at 13. She should take herself off to her room and listen to
the Smiths for ten years and try again for Apprentice 2020.Radio Times
