Dannii Minogue says X Factor prepared her for becoming a mum

Yummy mummy Dannii Minogue thinks that working on the X Factor got her truly ready for motherhood - as the show had already sparked her maternal instincts.

The Aussie singer made the surprising claim as she prepared to choose her final three male singers to take to the finals.

She will be seen on Saturday making her series comeback in Melbourne for the Judges' Houses stage. But she explained that, long before her tot Ethan arrived, she'd been used "to being a mum" as mentor to previous acts.

So she doesn't reckon she'll be a n y m o r e emotional than usual this year.

Dannii said: "I a l w ay s f e l t maternal with the acts - that's why I put in the extra time and extra effort and became friends with them.

"It's something I really love about the job and everyone can see it worked.

"So before I got pregnant, people were saying: "You'd make a really good mum because it's very natural for you.

"But I think it's the other way around and it's Ethan who's benefited by me having flexed that maternal muscle."

Dannii, 38, even admits she's struggling to prepare for her annual fashion battle with fellow judge Cheryl Cole.

Less than three months after giving birth, she said "I'll do the best I can. But I've not been crazy about losing the baby weight because I'm just concentrating on being a good mum right now.

"At this time last year I'd pretty much o r g a n i s e d every outfit.

"Now I am so unorganised, I will be excited if I get out there with a frock that's on the right way and I haven't got my shoes on my head."

S h e i s nevertheless confident she can be a winner in charge of the boys - though she doesn't relish the extra rejections she'll have to make in whittling down the contenders to three from eight instead of the usual six.

Dannii said: "It's an amazing category and I really feel that I'm in with a great chance of stopping Cheryl from doing a hat-trick of victories with her girls."

I don't get it.  Does it really matter who mentors who???
It's just the luck of the draw imo.

Mostly who the GBP take to, the most.
X factor backs all of them financially doesn't it, no matter who mentors them, it's not as if it comes out of the Mentor's pocket is it???
