Konnie Huq flashes her pants as she gets carried away limbo dancing at X Factor auditions

She's had enough practice making things out of sticky-back plastic and empty washing up bottles - now former Blue Peter girl Konnie Huq certainly appears to be making the most of her new job as Xtra Factor host.

The 34-year-old presenter was literally dancing with joy as she arrived at the Birmingham auditions of the X Factor yesterday - and bizarrely started doing the limbo before the crowds of fans waiting outside the city's LG Arena.

The economics graduate revealed rather more than she intended doing the risqué dance moves due to the shortness of  her printed summer dress.

However, luckily for Konnie, the dark colour of her underwear spared her further blushes.

Konnie left Blue Peter in January 2008 after 10 years and replaces This Morning's Holly Willoughby on the ITV2 X Factor sister show - and she's clearly enjoying her time back in the spotlight as she larked about for the cameras.

Meanwhile, while he's known for never bowing down to anyone when it comes to his opinions - Simon Cowell appeared to be be curtseying to the crowds when he arrived at the auditions.

Dressed casually in a white t-shirt, aviator-style sunglasses and jeans rather than his usual high-waisted trousers, the talent show supremo made a gesture with his thumb and forefinger afterwards however that seemed to show he'd only enjoyed being deferential a small amount.

Or maybe he was joking about fellow judge Louis Walsh's height.

Simon, 50, and Louis, 57, were followed into the the arena for the second round of auditions by new judge Natalie Imbruglia, 35, who's standing in for the heavily-pregnant fellow Aussie Dannii Minogue, due to give birth next month.

Singer Natalie, who was dazzling in a fuschia pink dress, is also replacing Dannii as a judge on the Australian version of the X Factor, along with Boyzone star Ronan Keating, Aussie radio personality Kyle Sandilands and Australian Idol 2003 winner Guy Sebastian. The auditions for that start later this year.

Last week, the job of guest judge for the British X Factor went to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, who was booed by the audience in Glasgow on Wednesday.

However, at the time an X Factor judge told the Daily Mail: "There were reactions from the crowd. (But) there were reactions to all the judges as much as there was to Geri."

Also set for the hotseat are Katy Perry and Pixie Lott with more big names to be announced. Whatever the line up of the panel, the judges for this, the seventh series of the show, will be in London from 21-24 June, Dublin on 28 June, Cardiff on 2 July and Manchester from 9-11 July.

As reported by the Mail earlier today, judge Cheryl Cole was left shaken after a fan got too close for comfort following the auditions yesterday.

The 26-year-old star had just arrived back at her hotel when an over-zealous woman grabbed her wrist in a bid to get her CD signed.

Her security guards eventually managed to free Cheryl from the crazed fan's grip and ushered her swiftly through the crowds into the lobby.

Another round of auditions take place in Birmingham later today and the results can be seen when the X Factor hits our screens again in August.
