Amid a fairytale forest set, Leona Lewis made a bold stage entrance for her first ever concert arena tour.

Clad in studded knee-high boots and a bejewelled, low-cut, tight black dress, it seemed the X Factor winner was ushering in a new dawn in her musical career.

Because with her flowing black cape and commanding strut, the 25-year-old showed a more confident and sexy side to what her fans may be used to.

Shy no more: Leona Lewis struts on to stage at the Liverpool Echo Arena last night on the second night of her debut Labyrinth tour

Leona opened her tour at the Sheffield Arena on Friday before playing her second set at the Liverpool Echo Arena last night.

She showcased songs from her debut album Spirit and its follow up Echo, delivering a 19-song set for an army of 11,000 fans.

Those who go and see her on her 18-date tour can expect to enjoy a lavish set, inspired by her favourite movie, the fantasy film Labyrinth.

Spicing it up: The X Factor winner wore a low-cut, bejewelled, tight black dress and knee-high studded boots

Fantasy land: Here the songstress emerges into a swirl of mist from the ruins of a Gothic castle

The show is littered with acrobatic performances, prancing woodland nymphs with a Gothic ruin centre stage where the songstress emerges amidst a swirling mist.

Leona belted out favourites including Bleeding Love, Happy, plus a stunning rendition of Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River as part of the 19-song set.

She also powered through her cover of Snow Patrol's Run, instructing the crowd to hold their lit up mobile phones aloft, and did a version of Sweet Dreams  by the Eurythmics.

Centre of attention: She was supported by an army of backing dancers in medieval knight-inspired costumes

Lending her vocals: Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi is the support act for the tour, seen here in a sexy purple and silver playsuit

Her performance left little doubt as to why Simon Cowell described her as 'world class' four years ago when she won the X Factor.

Various reviews have dubbed her as Britain's answer to Beyonce and there is little doubt her strong performance sees her eclipse the struggling Whitney Houston as the queen of ballad singing.

Gabriella Cilmi was the support act for the show, and wowed the crowds in a short silver and purple playsuit.
