Sacked Junior Apprentice candidate Rhys Rosser has told how he overcame his height complex - and revealed Lord Sugar is ‘much shorter in the flesh’.

Rhys became the latest candidate to be fired from the reality TV show last night, in a surprise double departure.

An unwell Adam Eliaz was also relieved from duty - and the teenager was told to go back to parents and get tucked up in bed.

Candidates were set a sweet task by Lord Sugar this week - decorating cupcakes.

A reluctant Rhys agreed to lead the team Instinct, while a confident Zoe Plummer took the reins on Revolution.

Rhys vowed: ‘There may be some very tall people on here, but they won't intimidate me.’

Instinct struggled to come up with a cupcake theme, but settled on fashion, while Revolution plumped for an ‘I heart ...’ theme.

Revolution made a slim profit of £15.15 - while Instinct racked up an £89.74 loss.

Adam, 17, who had to leave the show, was told by Lord Sugar: ‘For me and the rest of the guys it has got to be business as usual.

‘Get yourself back home to your mum and dad and jump into bed.’

Lord Sugar concluded: ‘Well, Instinct, a bit like your cupcakes, you haven't risen to the task.’

Rhys, also 17, took Tim Ankers and Hannah Cherry back into the boardroom.

Role model: Rhys said Lord Sugar helped him to overcome his height complex

He said: ‘I felt really let down. My confidence was completely lost.’

Lord Sugar told Rhys on the BBC1 programme: ‘Rhys, you are a very special person, don't ever forget that - I said it.

‘This is a milestone. Rhys I've made my decision - You're fired!’

As he was driven away Rhys said: ‘I've always had a slight inferiority complex about my height but it is not an issue anymore.

Project manager Adam Eliaz decided to bring Hibah and Zoe Plummer, left, back into the board room

‘I've learnt so much for later life from the experience of being in this process and it has really given me a fire in my belly and confidence to go on and succeed in life.’

The aspiring barrister later said of Lord Sugar: ‘He's much shorter in the flesh.

‘However, this doesn't subtract from the influence he has on people, a very impressive person.

‘At the same time he spoke to us in a way that made us feel comfortable.’

After the show, entrepreneur Adam, who left school at 16 and has drawn comparisons with a young Lord Sugar, described the Amstrad tycoon as his role model.

He said: ‘I personally thought that Lord Sugar is a very down to earth man and not what he sometimes comes across on TV.

‘I have a lot of respect for the man and I have some understanding of how hard he must have worked when he was my age.

‘I believe that all young people like myself should look up to someone as a role model and after my experience on the show I can surely say that he is mine.’
