Move over Madonna: Glee's caustic cheerleading coach strikes a pose as cast recreate Vogue video

As the conniving cheerleading coach in Glee, Sue Sylvester does her best to sabotage the rival musical club which has diverted funding from her beloved team.

But that doesn't stop her from joining the pop-loving team in an upcoming episode of the hit show.

In a three-minute clip shown in the U.S. ahead of next week's Madonna-themed show,  the sadistic queen of one-liners is seen recreating the iconic Vogue video.

The Queen of Pop gave the green light to have her hits to be used in the comedy, which is not only a huge ratings hit in the U.S. and U.K. but a serious producer of chart-topping tracks.

In Vogue: Glee's Jane Lynch, who plays the show's nasty cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, spoofs Madonna's video

Black and white: The spoof was an almost scene by scene recreation of Madonna's famous Vogue video

Hilarious: Despite her hatred of the Glee Club, Sylvester made a huge effort

Cover versions of Amy Winehouse's Rehab, Kanye West's Gold Digger and Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline have all dominated the iTunes charts in recent months.

And of course the cast's hugely popular cover of Don’t Stop Believin’ also helped propel Journey's original version up the charts.

So it's little surprise business savvy Madonna wanted in on the act.

Not full of cheer: Sue Sylvester is the club's No.1 enemy in the show

In the clip Sylvester gets a makeover from Glee club members Kurt, played by Chris Colfer, and Mercedes, played by Amber Riley, for a shot-by-shot recreation of the black-and-white video.

Like Madonna's ground-breaking video, a scantily-clad Svlvester, played by Jane Lynch, writhes around recreating poses in the style of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake and Marlene Dietrich.

The original 1990 video was named the 28th best video of all-time by Rolling Stone, with controversial scenes of Madonna in a transparent blouse cut in some countries.

Next week viewers will see some of Madonna's biggest hits recreated by the Glee team.

For those that haven't witnessed this latest TV phenomenon, Glee is a comedy series about a high school show choir, known as a glee club.

It features their daily battles as they prepare for sectionals and fight off bullies, mostly the cheerleaders and footballer players, who mock them on a daily basis, usually by throwing a large slushy drink in their faces.

All strapped up: Sylvester in Madonna's famous corset pose

Strike a pose: Like Madonna before her, Sylvester recreates poses by icons including Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake and Marlene Dietrich

The first series was split in two with 13 episodes having already been shown around the world which not only brought massive critical acclaim but a huge cult following.

The second part of series one airs in the U.S. tonight and starts back on E4 in the UK on Monday night at 9pm.

The first part ended on episode 13 and saw the glee club, who are called New Directions, win a show choir competition

The first half of series one was this week released to buy on DVD in the UK and both soundtracks to accompany the show are also top sellers.

Stripped bare: Madonna's original 1990 video proved controversial, with scenes cut in some countries; Glee's remake is less risqué
