Election threat to Sugar show

Published: Today

FANS of The Apprentice may be forced to wait until NEXT YEAR for the new series - if there is a hung Parliament.

The TV show has already been shifted from this month to November due to star Lord Alan Sugar's business tsar job with the government.

Beeb chiefs cannot air the show around any election as it would give too much exposure to a political figure.

But as polls predict neither of the two main parties will have an outright majority, the show could be bumped again.

Experts predict a coalition government is likely to call for a second election later this year.

A telly source said last night: "The Apprentice lasts for three months so it will prove very hard to find a slot for it this year if there is a hung Parliament."
