My niece has seen Wicked 3 times now, twice in Sydney and once in London when she was on her school excursion recently. I think she likes this musical a lot!!!

In the Sydney production, the current actress who plays the sister in the wheelchair, is a friend of the boy who played my niece's father, Emile de Becque, in their school prodcution in South Pacific 5 years ago, hence one of the reasons she really likes this show.

She also saw Chicago whe she was on her extended stay in London due to the volcano. She enjoyed that to.

*NEED* to see Wicked!

Okay, recently I've seen "comedy of Errors" at Manchester's beautiful Royal Exchange Theatre. It was excellent, a real comic romp at only an hour and a half with no interval. Fast-paced, excellent ensemble cast and well worth going tos ee. Especially as we got tickets via a twitter offer of £5 :)

And then when I was in New York in March I saw " A View from the Bridge" on Broadway (love saying that!). Really superb lead performance from Liev Schreiber. Scarlett Johansson was his niece he started to fall for in a very dangerous way. Great play by Arthur Miller. Johansson was okay but it didn't feel convincing, her autn, Schreiber's wife, was very very good though.

One thing that struck me was the standing ovations it got. I mean it was good, but not that amazing. So I wondered if maybe that's just a Broadway/American thing. I found it quite uncomfrotable. I'm so British

coming up I'm hoping to get down to Stratford for at least 2 of the 3 new season: King Lear, Anthony and Cleopatra (will be studying both of these in the future) and romeo & Juliet.

I revisited Cats on Saturday. I first saw it in the mid 1980s. Loved it both times. The whole production was superb.

I saw West Side Story yesterday. Its the first time I have seen it as a live production. I saw the movie with Natalie Woods years ago, but the live production was fantastic.

This has put me in the mood for going to the theatre again. The last time I went was in January to see the Chinese State Circus, which was breathtaking. It was only in the King's though; I'd love to see them do a full-scale show in a bigger venue. In the meantime I'll have to check to see what's on around here.

Why yes, yes it does. If it was in a theatre then it counts. My bezzie wants to go too so we'll have to get something arranged quite soon.

I saw Mary Poppins last week. It was fantastic. I only saw it because I was flying to Melbourne for a week's holiday and booked tickets to see it as it is playing down there. I don't know when it will come to Sydney.

A big weekend for me this weekend. I saw the NSW School's Spectacular yesterday with over 3500 students involved on and off stage.
Today I saw Fame. It was interesting, but I did have a couple of microsleeps in it. Just too tired.

Went to see 'Lennon' at Liverpool ROyal Court a few weeks ago. Saw it twice when it was first staged during the 80's. Once with Paul Schofield then again with MArk McGann. Schofield was performing in the lead role this time but he was ill the night we went, so the writer, Bob Eaton, stood in.
Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels.
