1. During his later life Ralph Richardson, the English actor used to ride to the theatre on his motorcycle accompanied by his pet parrot, Jose, which was perched on his shoulder.

2. Jay Silverheels, who played Tonto in the Lone Ranger TV series was a professional lacrosse player.

3. James Cagney never actually said "You dirty rat!" in any of his movies.

4. Warren Beatty's first job in showbusiness , aged 17, was as an official rat catcher at the National Theatre in Washington DC, where he used to patrol the alleyway at night.

5. Actor/director Charlie Chaplin once came third in a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest.
