Far from her former days sitting sedately in front of the cameras reading the BBC news, seasoned broadcaster Jan can now be found battling with big cats against the rugged South African backdrop that has become her second home.

Yes, gone are the days of coiffed on-camera perfection and impeccably suited limbs.

But just how will Jan's newfound safari ranger skills prepare the fearsome feline fan for those slippery critters that have sent so many of our unsuspecting celebrities fleeing back to the hotel?

"I know that's going to be pretty awful and I'm just going to have to psych myself up!" a plucky Jan jeered before jumping on a jet plane headed for the jungle.

The lady certainly means business, and you're in for a shock if you thought that this dignified newsreader was going to let her age get the better of her amongst those other quick-footed campers.

"The public are going to see a very, very different me," she informed us, proudly proclaiming that her mission to grow old disgracefully would begin in the jungle.

"They're going to see an older woman with no make-up, greasy, sweaty and possibly tired!"

JAN Leeming got all ten stars in her Bushtucker Trial yesterday — despite bursting into tears earlier when told she’d been picked again.

She chose Jason for support. And the moaner, 63, shocked the others when she told how she grabbed ten stars from boxes of snakes and spiders.

But there was more misery for Jan last night when she landed her FOURTH trial. It will see her penned in with kicking ostriches and a BULL.

THE celebs are in for a shock tonight when they are told six will have to uproot to start a rival camp.

LAST night David Gest threw a big strop when asked a quiz question about ex-wife Liza Minnelli.
He fumed: “I’m out of this!” and refused to play when asked about her Oscar. He ranted: “If you bring Liza Minnelli into it, then leave me out!”
